Trees
1. With a pencil, draw swirling line from top of the tree to the bottom, circling down and around. Use your craft knife to dig out the Styrofoam until your tree resembles the photo. Use sandpaper to smooth edges.
2. Draw a star on the small Styrofoam sheet and cut out with the craft knife. Paint the star Yellow and set aside to dry.
3. Paint the tree Christmas Green.
4. On the edges of the tree, add a bit of White and Spring Green paint to make some highlights. See photo for color reference.
5. When dry, hot glue the star to the top of the tree.Lollipop Bushes
1. Cut a 2” ball in half. Paint each half Christmas Green. Use a stencil brush to add a bit of White paint to each ball. Set aside to dry.
2. Paint dowels White. When dry, cut into 4” pieces.
3. Cut 1-1/2” balls into slices. Paint two slices Bright Red, and two slices Spring Green. Add swirls in White, as shown, with a liner brush.
4. When all pieces are dry, assemble as shown using hot glue to secure pieces into place.
Candy Canes
1. With a cookie cutter, cut sixteen candy canes from the foam sheet.
2. Paint stripes, as shown, with Bright Red.
3. Set aside to dry.
Gingerbread People
1. With a cookie cutter, cut two gingerbread people out of the foam sheet.
2. Paint pieces Brown Oxide with a small amount of White mixed in. Let dry.
3. Add detail to the people using a #4 flat brush and liner brush, using White and Bright Red. Set aside to dry.
House:
1. Cut two rectangles 1” x ¼” from the foam sheet, cut them in half and paint them Bright Red. Use White to add hearts with liner brush.
2. Cut two 4-7/8” x 2” triangles from the foam sheet. Paint Brown Oxide.
3. Cut two 4” x 4-7/8” roof pieces from the foam sheet. Paint them White.
4. Paint the foam block Brown Oxide.
5. Cut 1” foam balls in half. Paint halves in Yellow, Bright Red, Concord Grape, and Spring Green.
6. Out of a 2” ball, cut the chimney. Paint it Bright Red. When dry, mix a little Black and White and add grout with a liner brush.
7. Cut a ½” slice off the bottom of a cone. Hollow out the center with your craft knife and use sandpaper to smooth the edges. Paint it Christmas Green and use a stencil brush to add White.
8. Assemble the house, using the photo as reference, and adding hot glue where necessary, to keep pieces secure.
Canvas
1. Mix a small amount of Cobalt Blue with White. Use a sponge to basecoat the canvas as shown. Let dry.
2. Place house on the canvas and, with a pencil, sketch a path. Mask off the pathway, remove the house, and sponge the path in with White and Brown Oxide.
3. Let canvas dry completely.
Hot glue all pieces in place, using the photo for placement.
