What is the difference between stamping and blocking?

Stamping is a very structured look and normally you use a regular acrylic paint.

With blocking you achieve more of a hand painted look. The paint that you use is Decorator Glaze. When using a glaze you can do more than one print.

  1. Load your block with your glaze.
  2. Create the first print by pressing the stamp face down on your surface. This will create a dark print.
  3. Without reloading create your second print by pressing a little harder on the block. This will give you medium color.
  4. Create a third print without reloading. This last print will be even lighter.
Blocking gives you the opportunity to create a free flow design.
